BNI Chases N.P.P Chairman.

Leaders of the NDC in the Ashanti Region have filed a complaint at the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) against NPP Regional Chairman over alleged false accusation against First Lady, Lordina Mahama. A Daily Guide publication on Monday cited Bernard Antwi Boasiako of having slammed Mrs. Mahama for allegedly presiding over an NDC meeting in Kumasi to hatch a plan to discredit the NPP. He alleged in the paper that discussion at the said meeting pointed to a plan by NDC activists to dress in NPP colours and attack the head potters. The planned action, according to the report, is to create hatred and disaffection for the NPP ahead of the 2016 elections. However, NDC Regional Secretary, Raymond Tandoh, says the allegation is frivolous and therefore the party has officially reported the matter to security agencies for investigation. He claims the party has strong evidence to indicate the NPP has planned to carry out such evil act and have decided to go public first rather to point accusing fingers at the NDC in order to deceive the public. Reacting to the issue on Kroyi mu nsem on Nhyira fm, Mr. Antwi Bosiako also known as Chairman Wontumi sais the NDC has no locus to report him to the BNI. President Mahama Is Joking.......

The 2012 flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom says he is not convinced by President John Mahama’s promise of ‘banishing’ Ghana’s energy problem, popularly known as Dumsor, by the end of this year. His claim, he said is based on his conviction that Ghana’s energy problem is much more deep-seated than thought and it would take more time to tackle it even if the country seeks to build more power barges. “The power problem we have would not be solved before the end of four years…if somebody tells me that this power problem would be solved this year, I know they are not serious…even if you build power barges, it would take three to four years to build,” he said on Accra-based Citi FM. President John Dramani Mahama has promised to banish the problem which is crippling Ghana’s industrial sector by the close of this year. “2015 will be one in which we banish darkness from our land and put an end to dumsor forever…,” President Mahama said during a 31st December, 2014 All Night at the Perez Dome in Dzorwulu. Power Minister, Kwabena Donkor also promised to do same by the end of 2015 promising further to resign if he fails to deals with it. "At least the end of the year is December so you can hold me to that…yes I will resign…," he said. But these promises, the former Energy Minister under the erstwhile Kufour administration indicated are unconvincing especially as he believes Ghana’s problem is deeper than Ghanaians are being told. Dr Nduom further called on President John Mahama to stop paying lip service and come out with the truth concerning the crisis so that Ghanaian businessmen would brace themselves up for the crisis. “We must not play politics with power…when there is a plan, we must follow it and tell people that it needs long term solutions…Mahama must be bold and tell Ghanaians the truth, so that when there is a long term plan, we follow it…I am a businessman so I would brace myself for it,” he said. According to him, the power crisis can be tackled head on by 2019 if "we start doing the right thing in the energy sector" adding that production of power through power barges is only one leg of solving the problem. The other legs, he said, involve the transmission of power which would take several years because it would take time to fix the equipment at GRIDCo and VRA which are weak as a result of several decades of usage. An Ecobank Manager Shot Dead.

A 40- year-old manager of Ecobank, Seth Akyea, has been shot dead by three unidentified persons at his residence at Kasoa. Seth Akyea until his death was the Operations Manager at the Cantoments Branch of the bank. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm last Friday. According to the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Samuel Winful, the deceased was killed when he arrived home from work at Kasoa New Market in the Central Region. He said the deceased’s vehicle was taken from him and later abandoned. “When he got home, he got down from the car and the suspects attacked him. They requested for his car keys. There was a lady in the car and the suspects asked her to go into the house. They marched the deceased to the passenger side and had a conversation with him where they shot him. And they took the car with them but the car has currently been retrieved. The murderers are three in all,” he said. He added that it was too early to describe the incident as a contract killing and stated that investigations were ongoing. “Now we cannot say it is contract killing and we are doing our investigations to unravel everything connected to the incident”, he added. Police Confirmed The Ghanaian Times Reporter Samuel Nuama Is Dead In The Presidential Press Corps Accident.

The police have confirmed the death of a Ghanaian Times reporter in the presidential press corps accident which occurred at Doryumu junction in the Shai Hills area in Greater Accra on Thursday afternoon. The Times reporter, Samuel Nuamah was said to have died on the spot, the Doryumu-Asutuare District Police Commander, ASP Stephen Addom confirmed this to Graphic Online’s Tema reporter, Benjamin Xornam Glover who has visited the accident scene. A number of journalists assigned to the presidency who were on the accident vehicle sustained serious life-threatening injuries have been taken to the hospital for medical care. They were taken to the Narh –Vita and the Michel Camp hospitals. The journalists were returning to Accra from Ho where President John Mahama had attended the annual convention of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church. Graphic Online’s reporter, Benjamin Xornam Glover reported that the police told him a total of 12 people were on the vehicle, a Ford GMC with registration number GB 506 – 12. According to the police the left rear tyre of the vehicle burst and in an attempt to control the vehicle, the driver applied the brakes and the vehicle veered off the road. A number of journalists assigned to the presidency at the Flagstaff House are reported seriously injured in an accident at the Shai Hills, just at the outskirts of Afienya near Tema. The injured have been rushed to the Michel Camp Hospital for attention. The accident happened Thursday afternoon. The journalists were returning to Accra from Ho where President John Mahama had attended the annual convention of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church.
