In the wake of the erratic power and water supply to communities across the nation, it may be obvious that many Ghanaians have already started counting the days of the Mahama administration.

With some people ready to kick President John Dramani Mahama out of the Flagstaff House, others believe he deserves a second term in office to remedy the economic situation of Ghana.

But no party wants the government voted out of power than the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In respect of this, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker has challenged the NPP to do everything within their power to oust the incumbent government.

According to him, if the NPP believe the President has engaged in any act of misconduct; the party should "impeach" him.

Addressing his comments to the NPP Central Regional Secretary, Kwamena Duncan, a panelist on the Wednesday edition of Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Ade Coker stated emphatically that the NPP should not hesitate to expose the President.

“Go and impeach him. He’s there for you to impeach him. He’s there for your people to impeach him.”

Ade Coker however touted the achievements of President John Mahama stressing that no matter the efforts by the opposition party to dent the character of the President; Ghanaians will retain him in office during the 2016 general elections.

“President Mahama will be retained by the good people of Ghana...If wishes were like horses, beggars would ride," he stated.

Gov’t Scraps Teacher Motivation Allowance

Government says it has scrapped the ‘teacher motivation allowance’ paid to members of the profession every term.

The allowance was levied on students at the senior high school level, but that will no longer be charged from the next academic term.

Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education, Francis Gbadago, said the motivation allowance has outlived its usefulness, adding that other public sector workers such as doctors and nurses are not paid such allowances to be motivated to work harder.

“The purpose for which this teacher motivation fee was introduced has lost its value at the moment. Now we have teachers being paid a considerable amount of money as salary. We think that at this particular point in time, there is no need for teachers to paid teacher motivation anymore.”

He added, “there was no need to pay a category of professionals a particular motivation in order for them to deliver whatever they are supposed to deliver.”

Mr. Gbadago further cautioned teachers at the basic school level against charging such similar fees from students.

He stated that the Ministry of Education had become aware of a number of basic schools that were levying students with teachers’ motivation fees, saying it is “totally illegal” to charge such unapproved fees.

“Our checks and research has revealed that indeed these basic schools are also charging teacher motivation across board and that is illegal. We think that it is time for the teachers of these schools to stop this collection of illegal fees before the law catches up with them.”

The cancellation of the teacher motivation fee comes at a time when government has received a backlash for similarly halting the payment of allowance to trainee teachers.

Government has also been criticized in recent times by teacher unions for not payment of other mandatory allowances such as transfer grants.

Kofi Annan Urges Smart Agriculture To Fight Poverty

Former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, has charged African leaders to urgently put in place smart measures to protect their people against extreme poverty and hunger.

According to him, there is the need for urgent action to improve the lives of people as climate change and its allied perils threaten to drive many into extreme poverty.

Speaking at the on-going climate change conference in Paris, the chief diplomat urged leaders on the African continent to step up efforts as Africa will be the biggest loser to the impact of climate change.

He said, “urgent policy action and adequate resources are needed to make food systems resilient and to ensure that high quality diets are affordable and accessible for everyone.”

He noted that growing more of the same staple crops will not be enough adding that the world needed agriculture to “be climate smart and also nutrition smart.”

He pointed out that agriculture must meet the needs of people saying we “must work to create agriculture and food production systems that are diverse, efficient and resilient.”

The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, is being held in Le Bourget, France, and is scheduled to end on December 11.

It is the 21st yearly session of the Conference of the Parties to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 11th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.

The objective of the conference is to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, from all the nations of the world.

Yaa Yaa Needs To Break Her Virginity...

Yaa Yaa, born Bertha Bridget Kamkam in an interview withGraphic Showbiz last month revealed she was still a virgin.

But one of Vybrant Faya’s management team, Mr. Logic on Happy FM said the reason she wasn’t blowing up as an artist was because she was a virgin.

“If you are 18 and you are not sexually inclined, there are certain things you wouldn’t understand about life.” Mr. Logic argued.  “This whole life is regulated by sex. If you are not sexually inclined your self-esteem is low. I’m not talking about sexual activity here, if you know about sex, your confidence is high and if you try it then your confidence is very high. If you are living with your daughter and she hasn’t experienced sex before, she is timid and shy but as soon as she does, she is active and happy.

“This Yaa Yaa girl, I think the main reason why she is not breaking that big is because she is yet to understand what sex is about. That’s why she is yet to break. She is still holding back something and what she is holding back is killing her self-esteem. I have watched her several times on TV and stage, if you are not sexually inclined or active, if you are on stage, your confidence level is low because what you are preaching; you don’t practice. So she needs to break her virginity. If she breaks, she will break through."
Do you agree with him?

Mr. Logic

Prez Mahama Hits Back At Yvonne Nelson... (READ)

It is not a secret that President John Mahama is not a fan of the beautiful Ghanaian actress/model and director Yvonne Nelson, who was recently named amongst 300 most influential women in the world.

Yvonne like many Ghanaians has been extremely critical of Mahama’s administration, especially, in the area of energy. When one googles the combination “Yvonne Nelson + John Mahama”, the first thing that pops up is the Yvonne Nelson led #DumsorMustStop campaign.
Although the president and his sympathizers believe that the actress’ campaign was engineered and financed by the major opposition party (NPP), Yvonne and many Ghanaians believe otherwise.

Yesterday, 29th November being the President’s birthday, Yvonne Nelson and many Ghanaians took to social media to give the President their best wishes amongst other wishes.

Mahama upon receiving Yvonne’s tweet decided to reply, but with a huge bag loaded with subtle insults, in the process calling the accomplished actress and director “purposeless”.

Read Yvonne Nelson’s tweet and Mahama’s reply below.
