I’m Eyeing “Incident-Free, Fair” Contest With You - Nana Addo Tells Mahama

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo is looking “forward to a healthy, incident-free, democratic, free, fair and credible contest” with President John Mahama in the 2016 elections.

In a congratulatory message to President Mahama on his election as the Presidential candidate for his party, the NDC, Nana Addo said "electing representatives of the people in a Republic such as ours is key to deepening our democratic values".

President Mahama was given a 95.1% endorsement by members of his party at the primaries which was held over the weekend.

Bearing in mind the fact that he will be clashing with President Mahama during the 2016 elections, Nana Addo hopes it will be a 'free, fair and credible' contest.

"This is to congratulate President John Dramani Mahama on his election as the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (“NDC”) for the upcoming presidential elections in 2016. I look forward to a healthy, incident-free, democratic, free, fair and credible contest in 2016. Electing representatives of the people in a Republic such as ours is key to deepening our democratic values.

In that regard, I commend the members, officers and the executives of the NDC for organising and participating in this essential democratic exercise to elect their presidential candidate as well as parliamentary candidates for the various constituencies across the country. I hope lessons from last weekend will help all of us to appreciate the need to strengthen our electoral process and enhance the quality of our democracy" he stated.

Mahama's Administration Living On Borrowed Time... - Sammy Awuku

peacefmonline.com

National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Awuku says the 'No' votes for President John Dramani Mahama in the NDC Primaries signifies a "damning verdict" of the party supporters against his candidacy in the 2016 general elections.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Sammy Awuku noted that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) grassroots have lost confidence in the current Mahama administration and given a hint of his defeat in next year's elections.

The 'No' votes against President Mahama are a damning verdict of the NDC supporters against him” and this result proves that the “NDC grassroots are disappointed with the government…I am convinced that the NDC is living on borrowed time.

He recounted that President John Mahama recorded the highest numbers of 'No' votes in his strongholds.

First on the list is his home region - the Northern Region - followed by Central Region where Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur hails from and Volta Region which is the party's stronghold.

“The highest number of ‘No’ votes was recorded in the President’s home region. That’s the Northern Region. That’s 10190 and this is their official breakdown to us. That’s the President’s home region; the Northern region where he played tribal politics. That’s where the people voted No more…The second highest 'No' vote that President Mahama got was from the Volta Region. That is the biggest stronghold," he stated.

Sammy Awuku cast doubts about President Mahama's popularity with the NDC because to him, the party's Presidential elections result is a reflection of his poor governance.

President Mahama contested against a ghost candidate. The one he contested did not exist. ‘No’ didn’t campaign. ‘No’ didn’t appoint DCEs who paid delegates on his behalf. ‘No’ doesn’t have a car, bicycle or motor. ‘No’ didn’t go anywhere in Ghana. It sat at one place on the paper. NDC pitched President Mahama against a ghost candidate; No. Yet, the ‘No’ which didn’t go anywhere or pay money, the No got 5 percent against President Mahama in his own party!

We’ll teach Mahama a big lesson if he ‘snubs’ Doe-Adjaho- Volta boys

We’ll teach Mahama a big lesson if he ‘snubs’ Doe-Adjaho- Volta boys
Members of the Volta Youth For Development, the group pushing for the selection of Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho as running mate of President John Mahama for the 2016 election, have vowed to teach the President a bitter lesson if their request is not granted.
Speaking on Atinka FM news on Wednesday , Prosper Fofo Ndekor, Chairman for the Group, said the Volta Region has done a lot for the National Democratic Congress over the years with little benefit in terms of proper development . According to him, the best reward for the people of the Region is for the party to nominate one of their own for the seemingly vacant slot.
“We will teach the President a big lesson if he does not nominate Doe- Adjaho as the party’s running mate ahead of 2016 election,” Fofo Ndekor warned.
He debunked claims that the group had been contracted by the Speaker of Parliament to do his bidding, adding that, they were embarking on the move out of conviction.
The group has released a statement , outlining reasons why the current Vice President, Amissah- Arthur must be dropped.
Below is the full statement:
We the members of Volta Youth For Development demand from President mahama to select the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Doe Adjaho as his running mate to secure victory for the party in the 2016 elections.
The fact is, Ghanaians have seen Amissah Arthur to be very incompetent as the Vice President to President Mahama and so, our believe which has sprung out of a research is that, his pair again with President Mahama as his running mate can only reduce the votes of NDC drastically.
Secondly, with the continous strong support of NDC by Voltarians despite our continous neglect by the NDC when it comes to development and ministerial position assignments, we as a result deem it fit for the President and all the national executives of the NDC party to atleast "console our soul" with this running mate position.
Eventhough Hon. Doe Adjaho has no hand in our demand, we have chosen to nominate him to be considered for this position because we see him as the best out of all the voltarians in NDC which has also been proven through another research of ours with respective to a majority of voltarians in and out of the Volta region.
We hope our request will be given a consideration by the leadership of NDC.
Thank you and may God be praised always

I Will Choose Money Over Love…

Popular Ghanaian actor James Gardner has said money would come first should he be offered the opportunity to choose between love and money.

The actor made this disclosure while reacting to questions about a recent role he played in Venus film’s upcoming movie, Candle In The Wind.

James, who played the role of George in the new movie, was offered a huge sum of money and properties to abandon the love of his life and marry his boss’ daughter.

According to him, from the face of it, he won’t hesitate to take such an offer in real life, adding that he would do that because he wouldn’t know what would happen subsequently.

However, concerning what subsequently happened in the movie, where he had to kill his child to protect the money, he said he wouldn’t have gone to that extent.

“If I were in that situation the character was in—I don’t mean now; I think the guy took too long — I will overdo it because I wouldn’t know what will lay in stock for me in the future. I didn’t know I would have to kill my baby and stuff like that.

“At the beginning I thought it was just about rendering me incapable of giving birth again, and I can’t sleep with any other lady and just stay in that marriage and then I get all I want. So it sounded easy but later it turned out to be something else. But if I have to take a decision because I wouldn’t know what will happen in the future…I will definitely do it,” he told journalists at the movie’s press release when he was asked what he would have done in real life if he was confronted with such a situation as it happened in the movie.

James remains one of Ghana’s fine actors. He has acted in quite a number of Ghanaian movies and has often been described an actor with good charisma.

I'm Cool With Shatta Wale - Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson

Actress Yvonne Nelson isn’t beefing with Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale.

She told Sammy Forson in an interview on a special edition of Route919 on Live FM Wednesday afternoon to launch the station’s Christmas-themed promotion #Decemberislive, she has nothing against the ‘Hold It’ hitmaker.

“I hope so.. I guess”, she said

A report last week claimed the two had a disagreement at the 4SyteTV Awards 2015. Read the report by ghbase.com below.

The Mtn 4Syte Music Video Awards was held over the weekend at the AICC. Celebrities and fans alike thronged the venue to witness a night of music and honouring of musicians and Industry players, who have done something spectacular in year in review.

The 4Syte Music Video Awards had some minor challenges this year but in all it was a great show and the organizers should also be commended for making an effort to recognize the hard work artistes put in their music videos.

Behind the scenes, where there were no cameras, something no one expected happened at the event and we just couldn’t keep it all to ourselves without letting you know.

Shatta Wale, moments before his performance left to change costume and to get “that something” and usual, the Dancehall king was followed by his loyal Shatta Movement team. They wouldn’t let a second breath, without chanting his name as they followed him.

Just unfortunately, one of the bodyguards of Shatta Wale either mistakenly or intentionally pushed Yvonne Nelson who was by then granting an interview to another media house, some few steps from the alternative entrance of the hall. The push was soo great that, Yvonne Nelson almost fell on the ground, if not for the timely support Bismark The Joke applied with his body to prevent the “Yaa Asantewaa” of our time from smashing from the ground.

The A-List Actress fumed with soo much anger and started ranting some unprintable words at Shatta Wale but not in his presence. She would have been calm, if Shatta Wale had just apologised to her, but that didn’t happen, and we cannot tell if it was that Shatta didn’t recognize her in the dark, or he was soo much “highly excited” he didn’t see the need.

The entourage of the SM Family also cared less and they followed their king to make a grand entry into the room. An eyewitness revealed to Ghbase.com that, Yvonne Nelson who was soo angry then, started heading towards her car together with Bismark The Joke, revealed that, she was a fan of Shatta Wale and even wanted to feature him in her upcoming movie and use one of his hit songs as the theme song in the movie.

She was heard saying, that she was disappointed in Shatta Wale for not making an effort to just say sorry on behalf of the person who pushed her, as the person was part of his team, and considering the fact that, he also saw what happened.

Our eyewitness also disclosed that, as anger boiled in Yvonne’s body, she was heard saying in Twi, “Why? Shatta he doesn’t clean his a** or after the show, he won’t bath again”. That statement from Yvonne Nelson shocked those who were around at the time and someone even shouted that, Yvonne doesn’t respect at all.

“Console Our Soul” With Doe Adjaho As Running Mate - Volta Youth Demand From Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama and Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho

The pressure on President John Dramani Mahama to choose his Running Mate has been deepened by a group calling itself Volta Youth For Development (VYFD) in the Volta Region.

Volta Youth For Development upon the NDC’s constitutional requirement has demanded from President John Mahama to select the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho as his Running Mate to secure victory for the party in the 2016 elections.

According to the group, per their research, Ghanaians have seen Amissah-Arthur to be very incompetent as the Vice President to President Mahama; believing that the Vice President pair again with President Mahama for the 2016 general elections can only reduce the votes of NDC drastically.

The Volta Youth again stated that the NDC has neglected the Voltarians when it comes to development and ministerial position assignments despite their continuous strong support for the party; hence the clarion call on the President and all NDC executives to console them with the Running Mate position.

The pressure group however indicated that Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho has no hand in this demand, but they have chosen to nominate him to be considered for this position.

“…because we see him as the best out of all the Voltarians in NDC, which has been proven through a research of ours with respect to a majority of Voltarians in and out of the Volta Region,” the statement stated.

MAKE DOE ADJAHO THE RUNNING MATE-VOLTA YOUTH FOR DEVELOPMENT

We the members of Volta Youth For Development demand from President Mahama to select the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon.

Secondly, with the continuous strong support of NDC by Voltarians despite our continuous neglect by the NDC when it comes to development and ministerial position assignments, we as a result deem it fit for the President and all the national executives of the NDC party to at least “console our soul” with this running mate position.

Many pastors don't know God- Apostle Opoku Onyinah.

Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost (TCOP) and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, has asserted that there are many people parading themselves as pastors who do not know God.
According to him, it is sad and very dangerous to be a priest without knowing the Lord. “Any pastor who keeps on sinning without repentance does not know the Lord,” he declared.
This was contained in a paper presented by Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah at the opening of the 2015 Heads Meeting of the leadership of the Church at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) at Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region last week.

Participants were selected from the over 90 foreign branches of The COP across the globe comprising apostles, prophets, evangelists, area heads, retired heads, directors, heads of the Church’s tertiary educational and bible training institutions, national heads and leaders from the Church’s autonomous nations, among others.
The five-day annual meeting which ended on Sunday, November, 22 was specifically organised for the leadership of the Church to strategise for the coming year through fasting, prayer and sharing of the word of God.
Speaking on the 2016 theme of the COP, “Hearing and Obeying the Lord’s Voice in my Generation” 1 Samuel 3:9-10, Chairman Opoku Onyinah noted that the priesthood is supposed to be a sacrificial service, not by mouth but by practice.

“When you see a pastor trying to say, ‘Had it not been the ministry, I would have been like this or that, as a means to stir people to give money,’ watch out, for the tendency to get back into slavery in 'Egypt' or the tendency to be 'fleshy' is strong. He needs to review his life and pray.
“The true minister sees those ’fleshy’ things as rubbish. In life, we do not boast of the things which are garbage. We see them as filthy. We throw them away. True ministers of God have thrown these things away. Ministers who still run after them are like children who need to be taught the basic things of Christ again.
“The challenge with such ministers is that they are still leading the flock. They cause havoc in churches and society…,” he stated, adding, “What a responsibility that the Lord has placed on ministers! How I wish all pastors would truly recognise the great responsibility that the Lord has placed on us.”
Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah identified the characteristics of fake pastors as the ones who are immoral, defiling young girls and chasing other men’s wives; those pastors who are misusing church funds and manipulating churches’ systems for their own benefits.

He also said pastors who are worldly and extremely focused on fashion such as changing and acquiring clothes, vehicles, and houses at the expense of the kingdom work do not know the Lord Jesus Christ whom they profess to follow.

“When we consider the book of Hebrews which said that we have no right to eat on the altar on which we serve, the writer had challenged his listeners to shun away from sexual immorality, love of money, strange teaching (teaching which satisfies people appetites), and ceremonial food (Hebrews 13:4-10).
The Chairman noted that pastors must be the representative of Christ on earth and should therefore lead exemplary lives to impact others positively.

Worsening DUMSOR: Who Is Telling The Truth?.... As Ghana Gas Accuses Power Ministry Of Lying.

CEO of Ghana Gas Company, George Sipa Yankey (L) and Minister for Power, Dr Kwabena Donkor

Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) has slammed attempts by the Ministry of Power to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians regarding reasons adduced by the latter for the current intensified load-shedding in the country.

Many areas especially in Accra in the last two weeks have been experiencing 12 hours of power on and 24 hours of no power with some going off for 48 hours.

Most local and foreign businesses, grappling with problems associated with the intermittent supply of electricity for several months, have decried the current situation.

On Tuesday, the Power Ministry told Ghanaians that the worsening energy situation in the country was as a result of a shutdown of Ghana Gas at Atuabo.

statement signed by the head of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Power, Mr Kweku Sersah-Johnson, on the current increase in the quantum of load shedding in the country, said the shutdown is to enable the African Middle East Investment (AMERI) Power plant, which is to generate additional 250 MW of power when fully commissioned to be connected onto the gas supply system of Ghana Gas.

The Power Ministry's statement, comes on the heels of an earlier statement from the Electricity Company of Ghana  indicating that 530MW load is going to be shed today.

ECG is to undertake 530MW load relief between 18:00hrs and 06:00hrs due to insufficient power generation.

According to the Ministry of Power, engineers of both the Ghana Gas and AMERI were working round clock to complete the connection of the gas line and to ameliorate the recent further decline in power supply in the country and appealed to the public to bear with the situation, “as the gas line connection is expected to be completed soon”.

But Ghana Gas in a response has refuted the claims saying "the assertion that the current increase in load shedding in the country has come about as a result of the shut down of Ghana National Gas Company limited (Ghana Gas) is incorrect."

The company says it has nothing to do with the situation as claimed by the Power ministry in its statement explaining why ECG is shedding more load.

Ghana Gas said it finds the Power Ministry's explanation of the issue "disingenuous".

Below is the full Ghana Gas statement.

GHANA GAS CLARIFIES INTERRUPTION OF GAS SUPPLY FROM ATUABO
The Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) wishes to correct an erroneous impression carrried in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Power today, 24th November, 2015, through its Head, Public Affairs, Mr Kweku Sersah-Johnson.

We wish to state the following:

1. That the assertion that the current increase in load shedding in the country “has come about as a result of a shutdown of Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas)” is incorrect.

2. That Ghana Gas has no contract regarding the ongoing installation works by the African Middle East Investment (AMERI) power plant being installed at the Aboadze power enclave. However, because of the experience gained in pipelines construction over the past four years, Ghana Gas engineers are only assisting the VRA to connect the AMERI plant to its power systems.

The following are the facts.

On 12th November, 2015, Ghana Gas receieved a written request from the Volta River Authority, an agency under the Ministry of Power, to shut-down its processsing and supply of lean gas to enable it (VRA) to connect the AMERI Plant to its “existing gas pipeline in the week of November 23-27, 2015.”

Consequently, Ghana Gas honoured the request and shut down Atuabo yesterday, 23rd November, 2015 to enable the VRA and the sector Ministry to tie the AMERI Plant onto the VRA facilitities.

The shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant was, therefore, at the instance of the VRA, which claimed that it had made adequate arrangement for light crude oil to power its Aboadze Plant and avoid a shortfall in energy generation.

Ghana Gas, therefore, find the attempt by the Ministry of Power on this matter unhelpful.

For the records, Ghana Gas does not have any challenege, whatsoever, with the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant. The Plant has been operational since Ghana’s first indigenous natural gas made its way from the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah, through the 60-kilometre journey, to safely to land.

Today, 24th November, 2015 marks exactly a year since Ghana Gas delivered the first lean gas to the VRA. There has been no safety incidents recorded at the plant or unplanned outage within the same period.

United Nations: Nominate And Vote Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo for the Nobel Peace Prize.

NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO-ADDO IS THE ONLY UNIQUE AFRICAN AND GHANAIAN LEADER TO COME OUT BOLDLY BEFORE THE WHOLE WORLD TO DECLARE THAT "HE WILL NEVER COMPROMISE GHANAIAN BLOOD FOR THE PRESIDENCY"
This is an urgent move to bring to light the peace-loving nature of this individual, who, in defiance of all those who have painted him as an evil and war mongering leader, has, single-handedly, defused post-election tensions in Ghana, which, but for his timely instruction to his followers, would have erupted into a civil war of unimaginable atrocities. He chose the path of peace by challenging the election results at the Supreme Court and not by violence on the streets.

He must be commended for doing the right thing and exhibiting wisdom and political maturity as well as establishing a precedence, hitherto, alien to most African democracies (if they can be referred to as such) by condemning violence and challenge via the gun. By his decision to seek refuge in the courts of law, he set the example for other leaders to emulate. His decision saved millions of lives, the elderly, the striving youth, orphans, disabled (my son being one of them) and other vulnerable members of our beautiful Ghanaian society.

By his decision, he has also saved the day and avoided the huge cost of war and its toll on our ailing and failing economy. I doff my hat for this man and so must you !!! We, also, want to bring to bear on leaders, whose evil override their conscience and logic, that there is hope in constitutional rule; that the resolution of conflict violently brings nothing but death and destruction, shame and humiliation to the perpetrators and, eventually, they become nothing but rogues who are treated with utmost contempt. To warn all criminally-inclined minds that we want no war and no violence but rather the rule of law and not the rule of the gun...WE DESERVE NOTHING LESS AS GHANAIANS, AS AFRICANS AND AS HUMAN BEINGS!!!
