Electorates in the New Patriotic
Party have elected Lawyer Philip Addison as their parliamentary
candidate for the Klottey Korley constituency.
Lawyer Addison
had to battle his former Constituency chairman Nii Noi Nortey in the
election which saw him amass 396 votes out of the 763 total votes cast.
Today marks the second time the NPP has held primary in the area before the 2016 elections.
On
August 2nd, 2015, the party organized the first primary which was won
by Nii Noi Nortey but following protests from lawyer Addison and a third
contestant, Adjei Tawiah , the results were annulled. After
months of court suits, a barrage of criticisms, a threat by Nortey to
pullout and a decision to return, the party set 27th February, 2016 for
an election.
The total votes cast were 763 and Lawyer Addison
took a chunk of it whilst his rival had to settle for 367. Two ballot
papers were recorded as spoilt ballots.
