2016 Would Still Be One Touch- Prez Mahama.

President John Mahama has predicted a one touch victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections using the massive infrastructure development of the country as a bench mark to assess performance of government.

President Mahama addressing a rally of NDC supporters in Tamale on Saturday as part of his "Changing Lives" campaign tour of the region, he said the work of the government would speak for itself.

He expressed the hope that Ghanaians would appreciate the equitable distribution of the national cake and renew the mandate of the party.

He said NDC detractors would never see anything good that the government is doing to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

President Mahama appealed to Ghanaians especially members of the NDC to remain united and focused to win the 2016 elections one touch since God is on their side.
He said NDC as a party is people centred and never discriminate against anybody.

He said that is why he had to come from one of the remotest areas of the country to lead the party to victory.

He said everyone in NDC stand the chance of becoming president no matter where the person hails from.
“God is our redeemer and since He is the one who installs leaders I have the hope that in 2016 God will bless us again with a one touch victory,” he said.

President Mahama called for patience for his administration to address the current challenges facing the country, adding that NDC would never renege on its promises.

He said the NDC had finished laying the foundation of the country’s development saying, “The framers of the 1992 Constitution knew that four years is not enough for any government to complete development projects hence the need to allow for a second term to fulfill campaign promises”.

He asked Ghanaians to renew his mandate in 2016 to steer them to the ‘Promised Land’.
He said, “We are working just like an artist. When artists are working you don’t actually know what they are doing until they finish the work. Those who are saying we are not working are entitled to their opinions but the communities in which we work would testify.”

President Mahama said those who accuse the NDC government for going for loans are doing so for malice because those loans are used to embark on the massive road, school and health infrastructure saying, “Every business person will tell you that loans help to build the business”.

He pledged to tar major roads in Northern Region especially Walewale-Bunkpurugu, Tamale-Makango, Yendi-Saboba and Yendi-Tatale-Sangule roads and provide the people with electricity.

President Mahama appealed to aspirants in the NDC Parliamentary primaries not to abandon the party and go independent if they fail to win since such practices caused the party to lose some seats in 2012.

“We lost in Tamale North, Tatale-Sangule, Kpandai and Bunkprugu because defeated candidates went independent and if you add the votes of the independent and NDC candidates those seats wouldn’t have been lost.”

Ghana Is Bouncing Back- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama
President John Dramani Mahama is optimistic that the programs and policies he has put in place in managing the Ghanaian economy are yielding results.

According to Mr. Mahama, the Ghanaian economy has experienced tremendous growth over the last couple of years as a result of the reforms his administration is embarking on.

“Our economy has been sufficiently transformed during these last few years of necessary and often painful reforms, so that it won’t fall prey anymore to low prices of commodities on the international market,” he said in a post on his facebook wall on Thursday.

His conviction stems from a World Bank forecast that the Ghanaian economy will experience a GDP growth of more than 5%: 5.9% in 2016, and 7.8% in 2017.

Below is the full post by the President:

We are on the right path!

The World Bank forecasts a GDP growth of more than 5% for Ghana; 5.9% in 2016, and 7.8% in 2017. The World Bank thus confirms the soundness of my government’s economic policies.

Our economy has been sufficiently transformed, during these last few years of necessary and often painful reforms, so that it won’t fall prey anymore to low prices of commodities on the international market. Prices of commodities are still low, but our economy is getting back on track, as the World Bank’s forecast confirms.

Our economy is changing!

Prez Mahama Inaugurates Gwiraman Community SHS.

President John Dramani Mahama last Monday inaugurated the Gwiraman Community Senior High School at Bamianko in the Nzema East District in the Western Region, saying the government’s quest to improve access to education was on course.

The Gwiraman Community SHS is the second community SHS to be inaugurated by the President in less than two months.
The first was the one named after the late President Mills which was inaugurated at Ekumfi Otuam in the Central Region last September.
The community day SHS is the flagship educational project of the Mahama administration.
President Mahama had promised that the government would construct 200 of the schools in selected under-served communities by the end of his first term.
The E-shaped four-storey edifice has facilities including 24 classrooms, eight staff offices, four science laboratories, a library, an ICT laboratory and an assembly hall.

Five more
Inaugurating the project, President Mahama said five more of the community SHSs were ready for inauguration.
The community day SHS, he said, represented the single most comprehensive educational policy ever undertaken in the country.
He stated that the schools were job creation avenues, saying, for instance, that the Gwiraman project alone created 165 jobs during is construction.
He added that 40 teaching and non-teaching staff would be posted to the school.
President Mahama advised parents to take interest in the education of their children and urged the community to take the project as theirs to ensure that the objective for which it was constructed was realised.

Education Minister
The Minister of Education, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, said efforts to advance education in the country were on course.
The Omanhene of Gwira, Awulae Angama Tu-agnan II, described the President as a leader who kept his promises.

Was He Sent?

Government has released a statement to confirm tv3network.com's story about an armed man who was arrested at President Mahama's church with a fully loaded pistol.

According to the statement, the man aged 36 is under investigation by the National Security Secretariat.

Below is the original story

An armed man has been arrested at President Mahama’s church, Ringway Gospel Assemblies of God on Sunday after he was spotted holding a pistol loaded with bullets during service.

The man whose identity is not yet known was sighted by church members during Sunday morning's main service with the pistol.

A church member who confirmed the story to tv3network.com said ‘the man acted strangely and was too jittery during the morning sermon’.

It is unclear why the man believed to be in his early 30’s had gone to the Ringway Assemblies of God church where the president and his wife fellowship with the gun. Unconfirmed reports say the gun is unregistered.

He was caught by a lady church member whilst reaching his pocket for the pistol.

Church members around confirmed the man wasn't a member of the church and nobody could identify him.

Church officials have since handed him over to the police criminal investigations department for further investigations.

The Director General of the public affairs department of the Ghana police service, DCOP Rev. David Ampah Benin who is also a church elder of that congregation was spotted at the scene with some police officers to ensure adequate security.

Although President Mahama was not in church at the time of the incident, his official driver had brought his children to church that morning.

Other key public figures including Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood , other senior police officers including DCOP Rev. Ampah Benin all worship at the Ringway Gospel Assemblies of God Church.
