Kotoko Robbed With Armed Men.
Asante Kotoko players and staff were robbed by armed men at their hotel in Taifa, Accra, ahead of their fixture against archrivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
According to an official, belongings of the playing body and officials were stolen after the robbers ransacked their rooms at dawn.
“They stole our money, mobile phones and beat up some players too,” an official, who refused to be mentioned, disclosed to Goal.
The management called an emergency meeting, which raised fears that the clash could be abandoned by the visitors.
However, after another conclave this time with Ghana Premier League board, which was followed by a brief visit from Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi and his collaborators, Kotoko officials announced they would honour the fixture.
Both teams are meeting in Week 25 of the GPL, which is also the return leg of their first encounter won by Hearts 1-0.
The Porcupines are 12th on the log with 32 points while the Phobians are stuck in the relegation zone on 14th position with 29 points.

Was He Sent?
Government has released a statement to confirm tv3network.com's story about an armed man who was arrested at President Mahama's church with a fully loaded pistol.
According to the statement, the man aged 36 is under investigation by the National Security Secretariat.
Below is the original story
An armed man has been arrested at President Mahama’s church, Ringway Gospel Assemblies of God on Sunday after he was spotted holding a pistol loaded with bullets during service.
The man whose identity is not yet known was sighted by church members during Sunday morning's main service with the pistol.
A church member who confirmed the story to tv3network.com said ‘the man acted strangely and was too jittery during the morning sermon’.
It is unclear why the man believed to be in his early 30’s had gone to the Ringway Assemblies of God church where the president and his wife fellowship with the gun. Unconfirmed reports say the gun is unregistered.
He was caught by a lady church member whilst reaching his pocket for the pistol.
Church members around confirmed the man wasn't a member of the church and nobody could identify him.
Church officials have since handed him over to the police criminal investigations department for further investigations.
The Director General of the public affairs department of the Ghana police service, DCOP Rev. David Ampah Benin who is also a church elder of that congregation was spotted at the scene with some police officers to ensure adequate security.
Although President Mahama was not in church at the time of the incident, his official driver had brought his children to church that morning.
Other key public figures including Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood , other senior police officers including DCOP Rev. Ampah Benin all worship at the Ringway Gospel Assemblies of God Church.

Crisis Over Admissions Into Nursing Training Colleges.
Crisis Over Admission -
Into Nursing Training
Colleges
Updated : 13 - Jul - 2015
Most senior high school graduates
who have successfully met the
admission requirements of
nursing training colleges and have
applied for admission will not be
admitted because government has
imposed a quota on the schools .
The imposition of the quota has ,
therefore, reduced admissions by
half, and this directly contradicts
government ’s position that
allowances for teacher and
nursing training students be
scrapped in order to increase
enrolment at training institutions.
A letter from the Ministry of
Health to principals of nursing
training colleges warned that
those who do not strictly abide by
the quota will be sanctioned .
Checks by The Finder at the Health
Ministry confirmed that a quota
has been imposed, and the
explanation is that training has to
be controlled so that the state will
be in a position to employ
graduates of such schools .
Quota imposed on nursing
training colleges
Schools that have been admitting
200 students per programme such
as State Registered Nursing ,
Community Health Nursing and
Certificate Nursing have been
asked to admit 100 students for
each of the programmes .
This means that a school that runs
the three programmes mentioned
above has to cut its total
admission to 300 students instead
of the 600 which it would have
admitted without the quota .
Over 2 ,000 qualified candidates
applied for State Registered
Nursing in one training college,
but with the quota, only 100 will
be offered admission.
Already, over 2 ,000 qualified
nurses and midwives who
successfully completed National
Service do not have jobs .
